The Craft HR Manager manages all AZCO human resources initiatives impacting union construction employees. The position formulates partnerships across the business unit to deliver value-added service to management and employees that reflects the business objectives of the organization.

Essential Duties: include the following: Other duties may be assigned.

  • Establishes and maintains relationships with the business unit to facilitate the success of AZCO's mission and goals.

  • Provides guidance and coaching to business unit on matters related to all areas of human resources management impacting the union workforce. This includes but is not limited to employee relations, performance management, policies, labor-law legislation, and state and federal agency requirements.

  • Manages union payroll team and ensures accuracy and integrity of all payroll processes.

  • Ensures compliance with all HRIS requirements.

  • Researches, prepares for, and advises on matters pertaining to performance and disciplinary actions for union employees. Works closely with management and union business managers to resolve employee relations issues and grievances.

  • Development, coordination, support, and implementation of targeted HR initiatives impacting the union workforce.

  • Evaluates, and develops onboarding program for union workforce.

  • Facilitates onboarding program for union supervision as it relates to human resources.

  • Provide guidance regarding field pay practices for union employees.

  • Develops and facilitates performance management process for union workforce.

  • Partners with Corporate Human Resources and Safety teams to ensure that union policies and procedures align with AZCO’s goals and requirements.

  • Manages and resolves complex union employee relations and equal opportunity issues. Conducts effective, thorough, and objective investigations to ensure compliance with company policies, federal, state, and local employment laws.

  • Facilitates communication among union employees and site management. May guide employees and managers on problem-solving, compliance, to assist with mitigating risk for the organization.

  • Collaborates corporate services human resources team on companywide initiatives.

  • Evaluates, develops, and facilitates training programs for union supervision.

  • Identifies and leads and/or participates on employee committees, teams, and planning processes to assure process improvement is integrated into the daily operations of assigned business unit.

  • Works closely with management and union employees to improve work relationships, build morale, increase productivity.

  • Provides input and feedback that enhances the delivery of existing programs impacting the union workforce. 

  • Maintains confidentiality of proprietary information.

  • All other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities: This position directly supervises the payroll department.

Qualifications

Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Training, Business, Human Resources or a related degree is required.

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience working in human resources field in a union environment is required.

  • Experience with employee relations required.

  • Experience managing human resources requirements in a union construction environment.

  • Demonstrated creative and /or technical writing experience.

  • Ability to listen to training needs, identify, evaluate, and implement solutions.

  • Must demonstrate ability to build strong relationships and provide excellent client service.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to clearly present complex information.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel and Outlook.

  • Familiar with, HIPAA, Federal Contracts, E-Verify and other government compliance regulations.

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.

  • Superior verbal/written communication and presentation skills.

  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.

  • Experience working with unions and union labor.

Other Qualifications:

Travel: This position has limited travel responsibilities. Travel may be required to shop and jobsite locations in the Fox Valley and throughout the United States.
