AZCO INC. is seeking a Quality Control Supervisor to supervisethe Fabrication Quality Control inspection personnel and manage the day to day inspection and documentation process.This individual will be based in the Pipe Fabrication Shop located on Holly Road in Neenah, WI.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following: Other duties may be assigned.

  • Develop project specific inspection and testing plans based on client and contractual requirements.

  • Monitor inspection progress and compare to the inspection and testing plan, fabrication schedule, shipping schedule, etc.

  • Troubleshoot inspection issues and or technique.

  • Advise/consult with AZCO Level III on inspection methods and technique related to fabrication inspection.

  • Recruit, Train and Mentor Fabrication QC Inspection personnel.

  • Interface with fabrication superintendent, foreman and project management on workload, performance, schedule, etc.

  • Support/supplement Fabrication QC personnel when required by workload and/or schedule.

  • Develop and maintain fabrication inspector schedules (rotating shift, PTO requests, etc.).

  • Effectively communicate with clients (both internal and external) fabrication shop personnel, NDE Techs, etc.

  • Schedule subcontracted NDE services based on workload, schedule, ship dates, etc.

  • Schedule Authorized Inspector visits based on code requirements.

  • Review and approve code documentation and data report forms.

  • Develop, maintain and implement Post Weld Heat Treatment procedures, instructions, etc. based on applicable code and client requirements. Review and approve results upon completion.

  • Develop, maintain and implement hardness testing procedures/program based on applicable code and client requirements. Review and approve testing results upon completion.

  • Develop, maintain and implement positive material identification procedures/program based on applicable code and client requirements. Review and approve results upon completion.

  • Review fabrication documentation for completeness and approve prior to shipment.

  • Review and approve spool drawing releases from Drafting department prior to shop issue.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Oversee the quality process and manage the fabrication QC Inspection group to ensure quality program, specifications, contract, regulations, etc. are being followed. Responsible for supervision of at least four fabrication quality inspectors.

Education and/or Experience:

Minimum of five years welding inspection experience preferably in a fabrication environment; or equivalent combination of experience and education. Experience working with leadership and training preferred. Experience performing quality audits desired. AWS CWI certification required. Ability to obtain Level II NDE certification in MT and PT. Experience with various hardness testing methods including UCI, Tele-Brinnel, Pin Brinnel. Experience with PMI inspection as well as various PMI equipment manufacturers. Experience with Post Weld Heat Treatment and methods such as resistance, induction, open furnace, etc.

Must be able to read, interpret and implement technical documents including, but not limited to; project contracts, project specifications, ASME codes and standards, API codes and standards, AWS codes and standards, manufacturers data reports, manuals, instructions, etc.
