Description
* Summary:* To ensure compliance with company and jobsite safety policies and procedures and to take corrective actions and educate team members when necessary.
* Essential Duties and Responsibilities* include the following: Other duties may be assigned.
Conducts pre-job and pre-task safety planning, development of site-specific safety policies and procedures.
Responsible for the setup of local responders and medical facilities.
Acts as liaison between customers and jobsite contacts, including subcontractor safety representatives.
Attend project meetings. Maintain all necessary meeting notes.
Orientate and train employees on safety and health requirements to ensure understanding and compliance with regulations and company policy.
Plans for and oversees field activities and provides support to eliminate health and safety violations including monitoring subcontractors to ensure a safe working environment for all AZCO INC. employees on site.
Ensures availability of and oversees appropriate use of safety equipment.
Conducts daily walk throughs and coordinates with site supervisor to effectively carry out the site-specific safety plan.
Obtains permits and monitors hot work, confined space entries, and lockout/tag out, and excavation.
Investigates incidents; prepares appropriate report; and assists management in implementation of Return to Work policy.
Identifies potential causes for incidents and makes changes in policies and procedures to prevent accidents and illness.
Participates in policy and procedure development and determination of department goals and objectives; works with Safety Director to determine best means of implementation and provides feedback as to success and challenges.
Strive to further site safety through combined effort with craft supervision and labor.
Mentor and train Safety Coordinators.

* Education and/or Experience:*
Bachelor’s degree from a four- year college or university in Occupational Health & Environmental Safety or Safety Management; or at least six years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
* Computer Skills:*
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Primavera Scheduling software, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Explorer) and Bluebeam.
* Travel Requirements:*
Must be available to travel to jobsites not yet determined for the duration of a given project.
* Other Qualifications:*
Knowledge of CFR 1910 for general industry and CFR 1926 for construction desired.
Familiarity with Zero Injury techniques of Construction Industry Institute desired.
OSHA 500 Certification.
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including overnight hours and weekends as necessary based on the construction schedule.
