Burns & McDonnell Economic Analyst - Solid Waste Recycling in Austin, Texas

Description

We are seeking to hire a Solid Waste Recycling Analyst, for our Austin, TX office who will work in a team atmosphere by assisting with performing detailed technical, financial and operational analyses and working in project execution. Projects typically include planning studies, operational reviews, procurement for local governments and research studies.

Responsibilities will include, but may not be limited to assisting senior staff with the following:

  • Development of solid waste and recycling plans, studies and operational reviews.

  • Research and compilation of project data.

  • Development of project reports, analytical work papers, and project presentations.

  • Analysis of operational and financial data.

  • Preparation of procurement documents for solid waste and recycling collection, processing and disposal services

  • Preparation and analysis of financial projections and forecasts.

  • Preparation of cost of service and rate analysis.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Public Administration, Government, Environmental Studies, Community and Regional Planning Economics, Engineering, Business Administration, or other related field. Master’s degree preferred.

  • 0 - 2 years of experience

  • Previous internship and/or related consulting experience preferred.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills

  • Experience in the solid waste and recycling profession preferred but not required

  • High level of proficiency in the use of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Experience with Microsoft Access preferred, but not required

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Ability to meet deadlines under pressure
