Burns & McDonnell Senior Right of Way Specialist - Environmental Services (Austin) in Austin, Texas
We are seeking to hire a Senior Right of Way Specialist for our Environmental Services global practice for our Austin, TX regional office!
This position will serve as the Right of Way/Real Estate lead for multiple transportation infrastructure improvement projects. The candidate must have the ability to think strategically, keep informed about project activities through study and participation in project meetings, manage and work well in a team environment, have excellent task management skills, a proven ability to communicate professionally, have a flexible schedule, and be willing to work evenings and/or weekends, as needed.
Knowledge and experience working with the Texas Department of Transportation is required.
Manage client expectations related to the deliverable.
Ability to read and understand title and appraisal reports, land surveys, right of way and construction plans.
Coordinate team efforts including database management, meetings and reports.
Provide direction and management to land acquisition subcontractors.
Participate in public involvement meetings.
Coordinate communications related to internal team, subcontractors and clients.
Initiate or assist in contract negotiations and work authorization preparations.
Coordinate direction of project planning, budgeting, scheduling and establishing critical project objectives.
Coordination with client’s Right-of Way department and internal staff.
Ensure compliance with company
Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or related field from an accredited university. Applicable experience may be substituted for the degree requirement.
Minimum 13 years related experience
Texas Real Estate Broker required; Texas Real Estate Broker preferred.
SR/WA designation or SR/WA candidacy from the International Right of Way Association (IRWA) required.
Prior Right of Way acquisition, relocation, and eminent domain experience required, preferably in a consulting firm.
Ability to interpret title and appraisal reports, land surveys, right of way and construction plans.
Knowledge of general Texas real estate law.
Knowledge of Texas real estate title work
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Ability to establish effective working relationships with contractors, co-workers and other professionals.
Excellent computer skills and Microsoft Office Suite (i.e. Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and experience managing complex data in databases. TxDOT ROWIS experience preferred.
Valid driver’s license required. In addition, must meet standards to qualify for and maintain the Company’s vehicle driving privileges as outlined in the Company’s Motor Vehicle Safety Policy
Travel is anticipated, 25% of the time
