Burns & McDonnell EV Project Manager in Brea, California

Description

The Electric Vehicle (EV) Strategy Consultant will provide expertise to a diverse portfolio of clients within the EV planning industry. This position will provide EV Strategy project technical oversight, technical expertise and oversee the execution of technical design solutions.

Job Duties:

  • Guide and develop economic and technical analysis for the EV industry.

  • Respond to client requests and offer guidance in the understanding and execution of complex, non-traditional systems.

  • Consult clients in all aspects of infrastructure and spatial planning as it relates to EV incorporation.

  • Lead the implementation and validation of internal standards and technical specifications related to the area(s) of expertise.

  • Develop and incorporate technical assumptions regarding capital costs, operation and maintenance costs, performance estimates, and economic assumptions and forecasts.

  • Develop reports and presentations summarizing study results.

  • Provide strategic insight for the firm's ability to market technical services to clients.

  • Supports efforts to increase the firm's market share for consulting services in the electric vehicle industry by securing additional projects and clients.

  • Maintain relationships with existing clients, customers and contractors and develop new business opportunities.

  • Lead proposal efforts and requests for qualifications to obtain consulting assignments. Provide input for project budgets and estimates.

  • Preparation of economic feasibility studies after interpreting economic conditions and business implications.

  • Serve as a thought-leader in the EV industry through published articles, speaking at industry conferences, authored white papers, and active membership in industry associations/councils.

  • Provide instruction to junior staff.

  • All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, business or related field required.

  • Minimum of 10 years of professional experience.

  • Professional experience in the EV industry strongly preferred.

  • Demonstrated network of external colleagues within the electric vehicle planning industry.

  • Excellent computer skills using industry relevant software.

  • Demonstrated ability to clearly and effectively present complex information to all levels of employees, management and clients.

  • Excellent written and oral communications skills.

  • Must be able to adapt and think critically when faced with difficult problems.

  • Ability to work methodically and analytically in a quantitative problem-solving environment.

  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships with existing clients and develop business opportunities with new and existing clients.

  • Ability to establish effective working relationships with contractors, co-workers, and other professionals.

  • The ability to thoughtfully and positively influence, lead, and manage change.
