Burns & McDonnell Project Manager in Brea, California
Burns & McDonnell is looking for an experienced facilities design and construction Project Manager in Southern CA to build a strong regional presence to service local aerospace manufacturing clients. This individual will further client relationships around our major clients in CAN and build a national reputation for execution.
Ideal candidate will have the following responsibilities:
Direct and coordinate activities of several disciplines on a project of moderate scope or a combination of smaller projects
Project manage and pursue a wide variety of industrial facility projects including aircraft manufacturing facilities, aircraft paint facilities, flightline operation facilities, jet engine test facilities, large infrastructure upgrade projects or other manufacturing facilities
Oversee proposal development for project pursuits
Assist in the direction of project planning, budgeting and also in establishing project critical path objectives
Manage project resources and sub-consultants
Provide inspirational leadership by attracting, retaining, motivating and developing high caliber, multi-discipline talent
Collaborate with managers, marketing staff and other Burns & McDonnell Global Practices to identify and analyze business development opportunities that are strategically aligned with company’s objectives
Identify target clients for Burns & McDonnell and cultivate effective relationships with existing and potential key clients, customers and contractors to develop business
Develop pursuit strategy, capture plan development, go/no-go decisions in order to pre-sell projects before RFP release
Participate in necessary regional trade associations and professional organizations
Lead project teams in the manufacturing field
Will initially support the development and contracting of new pursuits, then execute projects in support of identified Burns & McDonnell client/s. In time, position will be responsible for expansion to new clients throughout the region
Other duties as assigned
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field from an accredited curriculum
Minimum of 10 years of related experience, including 3 or more years managing manufacturing and/or industrial engineering or architectural projects
Demonstrated ability to develop and manage work plans, schedules and budgets and provide leadership to a diverse project team
Flexibility to travel 25% of the time
Ability to apply and receive approval for assigned client screening and badging
Strong appreciation of the design-build contracting methodology and prior experience completing design-build projects
Must be versed in contract negotiation
Strong communication abilities exhibited by developed client relationships. Ability to quickly build long-term connections with internal and external clients by networking
Must carry strong interpersonal and communication skills and display a positive can-do attitude both internally and externally
Experience with aircraft assembly and manufacturing processes is preferred
Professional Registration in CA preferred
