Description

The Renewable Energy Consultant should have a deep and broad base of knowledge regarding development, design, and construction of renewable generation facilities, specifically focusing on wind generation. The candidate will perform various engineering duties supporting the development, analysis, design, and construction monitoring associated with renewable energy projects. Projects may consist of both studies and detailed engineering. The candidate will be responsible for teaching and training less experienced engineers with regards to renewable generation. The candidate will assist project managers with the execution of various projects.

Executes complex assignments requiring the use of advanced techniques, resulting in the development of new or improved processes, equipment and/or technological methods. May assess feasibility or soundness of proposed applications when data is insufficient or testing is advisable. May coordinate departmental or divisional project studies, reports or project design assignments. Progressive design and project management responsibilities. Regularly meets and corresponds with clients or outside personnel. Some marketing responsibilities. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a related course of study with a preference towards engineering from accredited program. Minimum 7 years related experience. Excellent written & verbal communication skills. Strong analytical and problem solving skills. This position requires an experienced and competent individual capable of successfully solving difficult problems that require adaptation and modification of standard techniques, procedures and criteria.

  • Minimum Education: Bachelor of Science in Engineering

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience with a broad and deep understanding of renewable generation, specifically wind.

  • Experience with development, design, and construction of wind generation projects.

  • Professional registration preferred

  • Proven ability to lead, educate, and train a team of engineers and analysts in regards to renewable generation studies and design efforts

  • Strong communication skills (both verbal and written) and presentation skills

  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills

  • Ability to perform under pressure and tight deadlines and to be effective in on-site work environments

  • Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently, including identification of critical path items to ensure deliverable deadlines are met
