This position reports to the Austin Superintendent

Areas of Responsibility


  • Comply with all Austin/Client safety policies and procedures

  • Review Foreman’s utilization of Job Safety Analysis (JSA) procedures

  • Utilize and participate in Austin’s Incident Prevention Program

  • Automatic shutdown of work when safety concerns arise

  • Review emergency procedures with foreman

  • Monitor Foreman’s daily Tool Box Safety Meetings.

  • Monitors and resolves any housekeeping issues in a timely manner


  • Demonstrate understanding of Austin’s & Client’s QA/QC processes

  • Monitor crew craftsmanship on a continual basis

  • Monitor and resolve any non-compliance in the QA/QC processes

  • Monitor Foreman review of completed work prior to QC inspection


  • Review “Look Ahead” schedule and daily activities with Foremen

  • Monitor material, resource, and equipment needs

  • Monitor and assure efficient resource loading of each work assignment

  • Review scope of work with Foremen

  • Maintain high visibility on work site

  • Monitor productivity of individual crews on a continual basis

  • Report and advise on any production/quality issues to Superintendent


  • Provide daily progress report to Superintendent

  • Participate in daily progress meetings

  • Inform Superintendent of any personnel safety, quality, or production issues

  • Deliver force report to time office by 8:00 each shift

  • Manage timesheet flow to Austin time office each shift

  • Coordinate service/resource requirements between Foremen

  • Prepare for and attend shift turnover meeting

  • Expedite the QA/QC process with Foremen


  • Demonstrate understanding of craft requirements

  • Keep track of crew member tool and safety equipment checkouts and enforce daily returns with Foremen
