Burns & McDonnell T&D Global Practice Manager (Calgary, Alberta) in Calgary, Alberta
The T&D Global Practice Manager is responsible for the managerial direction and leadership of the Transmission & Distribution (T&D) Global Practice working directly with local, regional and corporate office(s). This includes supporting and executing business strategy, delivering winning solutions, developing high performance teams, and promoting the Burns & McDonnell culture, values, and mission.
Manage the development and execution of local T&D operations strategies and goals.
Responsible for promoting, maintaining and advancing internal relationships.
Manage initiatives for sales, revenue and income goals for the local offices.
Support offices to achieve stated targets and standards for financial performance.
Provide leadership, development and guidance to the local offices.
Review, implement and attain T&D business plans across the local offices.
Liaise between T&D local, regional offices and applicable corporate initiatives.
Facilitate and manage in the distribution of tools and resources across all regional offices.
Promote and manage internal relationships to establish guidelines and executable plans for conducting business.
Plan, organize and present financial information, including sales and revenue forecasts to the entire T&D RO leadership group on a monthly basis.
Make regular periodic office visits to engage with T&D RO teams.
Prepare and implement market development plans to identified strategies, including plans for events, presentations, and relationship building for new clients.
Recruiting, hire, develop, and retain outstanding employee-owners.
Responsible for interpreting policies, purposes and goals of the organization to regional offices.
Adheres and responsible for Burns & McDonnell Quality Control program.
Ensure compliance with company and site safety policies.
Support diversity initiatives.
All other duties as assigned.
Bachelor's degree in engineering or related degree from an accredited program. A minimum of 10 years relevant consulting experience, preferably in the transmission & distribution industry.
Licensed Professional Engineer required.
Expert experience in client and business development.
Expert experience in managing projects, which includes proposal development, contract negotiations, project planning, design team coordination & communication, budgeting, schedule management, and client coordination.
Expert facilitation, collaboration, organization, and problem solving skills.
Demonstrated success as to budget, savings and/or profit margins in completed projects.
Ability to thoughtfully and positively influence, lead and manage.
Excellent planning and analytical skills.
Must demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills; strong interpersonal skills; and the ability to clearly and effectively present complex information to all levels of employees, management, and clients.
Expert knowledge of project management methodologies and tools including the use of Microsoft Project or equivalent.
