Burns & McDonnell Project Manager Transportation Policy in Chicago, Illinois

Description

Job Duties

  • Works directly with leadership in the Transportation Global Practice and contributes to its strategic plans and client development.

Supports multiple divisions and lines of business within Burns & McDonnell.

Produces white papers or case studies, presents at conferences / participates on panels

Demonstrates creativity, foresight and mature judgment in anticipating and solving problems.

Organizes staff and projects for success.

Participates in presentation development and project interviews, leads engagement/communication project scoping and cost estimating.

Provides senior-level input and evaluation on major pursuits and projects.

Develops new and manages existing client relationships, while interfacing with the client for proposal and project related items.

Identifies opportunities, leads proposals and manages projects associated with outreach, public policy, emerging technology platforms and strategic business planning.

Oversees the training of project teams, coordinates activities of multiple global practices/disciplines, and facilitates the efficient cost-effective utilization of staff while adhering to contractual and performance requirements.

Presents to internal and external executive management as required.

Qualifications

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in planning or engineering

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in transportation-related field (planning, policy or engineering).

  • Minimum 7 years of project management experience

  • Experience in public speaking, as well as developing and editing content for proposals, articles, collateral, technical reports, high level messaging, speech writing, and presentations required.

  • Candidate will have flexibility to travel up to 25% of the time
