Burns & McDonnell Marketing Manager (California) in Concord, California


The California Marketing Manager manages the preparation and execution of Burns & McDonnell's California marketing efforts in relation to business plans and proposals. This position will provide strategic direction to their assigned business unit(s) by managing the marketing plan for each client/project.

  • Manages the preparation of the regional business plan. Be involved in our strategic plan and help drive strategic initiatives to further the business plan.

  • Coordinates across all market/business lines in California and lead capture/pursuit activities

  • Leads and manages the regional marketing team assigns resources to proposal and marketing activities.

  • Manages the market assessment, client research, and business analysis process.

  • Develops region-wide systems, procedures, and resources.

  • Presents at marketing support staff meetings as needed

  • Acts as liaison for internal communication of region-wide marketing news and developments.

  • Manages a reporting system for marketing costs; reviews marketing performance summaries.

  • Manages capture planning, proposal preparation; helps decide go/no-go decisions and strategies.

  • Manages the maintenance of local contacts and leads database.

  • Prepares interview teams; contributes marketing expertise in project kick-off meetings.

  • Develops marketing-specific materials.

  • Manages the overall quality of marketing procedures, people, and products to optimize process efficiencies.

  • Attends professional organizations and conferences; builds professional network.

  • Develop and implement promotional initiatives.

  • Responsible for recruitment, development, training, retention, and evaluating the performance of the marketing team.

  • Act as pursuit manager for key pursuits and accounts as needed

  • All other duties as assigned.


  • Bachelor's degree in marketing or a related field.

  • Minimum 10 years of experience either as an A/E professional, in marketing, or sales with a professional services firm.

  • Superior technical writing abilities.

  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills.
