Burns & McDonnell Environmental Planner/Project Manager - NEPA in Dallas, Texas
The Environmental Services (ENS) Global Practice of Burns & McDonnell is currently seeking a Project Manager to support environmental surveys, NEPA analysis, and permitting services. The candidate should have an established and successful history of managing both small and large scale projects including but not limited to developing proposals and cost estimates, executing projects, developing strategic plans for new business and recruitment and hiring of key personnel to support the growth of the team.
Project management, team leadership, management & mentoring of junior staff
Prepare studies, evaluations, NEPA and state documentation for all types and sizes of environmental projects
Develop, cultivate, and strengthen relationships with clients
Develop business for the ENS Global Practice
Other duties as assigned.
Qualified candidate will have experience in the following areas and with the following agencies:
Federal Energy Regulatory Commission
National Environmental Policy Act
State and Local Environmental Permitting
U.S. Army Corps of Engineers
U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service
Bachelor's degree in engineering, environmental sciences, natural sciences, or related field from an accredited curriculum.
Minimum 7 years of related experience, including 3 or more years managing engineering or architectural projects.
Minimum 7 years of federal permitting and experience with business development in environmental consulting.
Experience with TxDOT transportation projects (including pre-certifications) and other Departments of Transportation preferred.
Demonstrated technical competence and project experience in natural, cultural, or socioeconomic resource fields applicable to industrial (primarily conventional or renewable energy generation/transmission) siting and licensing or environmental permitting projects.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Local and regional knowledge and relationships with existing clients is strongly preferred.
Candidate must demonstrate the ability to attract and retain clients and build backlog, revenue, profit, direct labor, and ROI over time.
Must have the ability to deal effectively with a wide variety of industry, government, and public contracts on project-related matters.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Professional registration preferred.
