Burns & McDonnell Staff Architect (Dallas) in Dallas, Texas

Description

Perform architectural design of projects from the conceptual phase through design completion. Modify and review production drawings for a variety of building types including, but not limited to data centers, power plants, process facilities, industrial facilities, healthcare facilities, airports, educational institutions, commercial, government and military facilities. Design exterior and interior components to help visualize client’s vision. Apply strong knowledge of commonly used architectural concepts, practices, codes, and procedures within the architecture industry. Research and compile project related data as required by the project and project managers. Compile studies and reports. Write specifications. Work with the BIM team to resolve clash coordination. Update drawings provided by senior architects to verify corrections are made within multiple software platforms. Compile information for client presentations, coordination and delivering drawings on time per deliverables set by project manager. Review shop drawings during construction and respond to any requests for information from the construction sites. Perform periodic site visits, and final punch lists for public and private clients. Comply with all policies and standards. Telecommuting is allowed 30 days per year. Primarily domestic travel required up to 10% for internal meetings and project site visits. Qualifications

Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Building Science or a directly related field from an ABET accredited program plus four (4) years of architectural experience.

Must have four (4) years of experience with the following:

  • Applying standard architectural industry techniques, practices, codes, and procedures to assemble construction document sets.

  • Architectural drafting, design development and detailing using BIM (Revit), AutoCAD, Adobe Suites, and 3D rendering programs.

  • Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Developing, modifying, and reviewing production drawings for various types of facilities.

  • Developing interior design, renderings details based on client needs and architectural requirements as determined by project managers.

  • Clash coordination against multiple trades.

  • Quality analysis of team drawings for internal and peer reviews.

  • Architectural review of shop drawing, submittals, and RFIs.

Alternatively, the employer will accept a Master’s degree in Architecture, Building Science or a directly related field from an ABET accredited program plus three (3) years of architectural experience in lieu of Bachelor’s degree plus four (4) years described experience.

Must have three (3) years of experience with the following:

  • Applying standard architectural industry techniques, practices, codes, and procedures to assemble construction document sets.

  • Architectural drafting, design development and detailing using BIM (Revit), AutoCAD, Adobe Suites, and 3D rendering programs.

  • Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Developing, modifying, and reviewing production drawings for various types of facilities.

  • Developing interior design, renderings details based on client needs and architectural requirements as determined by project managers.
