Burns & McDonnell Staff Environmental Engineer - Municipal Wastewater in Denver, Colorado

Description

Burns & McDonnell's Water Practice in Denver, CO, is in search of a Staff Environmental Engineers for its growing Water Practice. Candidate will be responsible for understanding, applying, designing, and constructing conventional and advanced water/wastewater treatment technologies for both industrial and municipal clients. In addition, the candidate will be responsible for process piping design, hydraulic profile development, process equipment selection, specification and drawing development, and construction administration for water/wastewater projects. Additional duties include identifying and obtaining projects, contributing to the technical growth of the group, staff mentoring, inter-discipline coordination, developing budgets and schedules, client development, and client maintenance.

Executes complex assignments requiring the use of advanced techniques, resulting in the development of new or improved processes, equipment and/or technological methods. May develop and evaluate plans for major projects. May assess feasibility or soundness of proposed applications when data is insufficient or testing is advisable. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and/or Master's degree in civil/environmental engineering from accredited program (emphasis on advanced water and wastewater treatment technologies preferred). Minimum 3 years related experience (completion of master's degree in related field may be substituted for one year of experience). Excellent written & verbal communication skills. Strong analytical and problem solving skills. This position requires an individual capable of applying intensive and diversified knowledge of principles and practices to broad areas of assignments. Must be capable of devising new approaches to problems encountered. Previous consulting experience strongly preferred. Professional Engineer preferred.
