Burns & McDonnell is actively recruiting Senior Architects with 8 years of experience to help shape our Mission Critical / Commercial / Higher Ed Studio in our well established DFW offices. This position offers unique opportunities for both personal and professional growth by offering a wide-range of project responsibilities and team leadership roles. The ideal candidate will be a team-leading, highly-motivated individual seeking progressively more responsible assignments. Architecture at Burns & McDonnell is a different. Senior Architects with a desire to lead a multidisciplinary team which includes in-house engineers, scientists and builders are encouraged to apply!
Provide project team leadership and coordination for finished plans, specification, and material selections; ensure design intent is incorporated into the construction documentation
Mentor and lead teams in the production of accurate technical and contract documentation for project construction
Mentor and lead construction administration duties including; bid review and support, site visits, address technical issues, and improve quality during construction
Work with government and regulatory agencies to achieve overall project schedule and objectives
Manage, mentor and recruit talent including resources to produce 3D software renderings and critical presentations
Bachelor of Architecture degree
8 years of professional experience
Licensed Architect in the state in which the office is located.
Proficiency in building codes, zoning, jurisdictional processes, building materials, specifications, and construction techniques
Experience in construction document preparation and field observation
Expert software and computer skills required including BIM (Revit), AutoCAD, 3D Rendering Programs, and Microsoft Professional Office software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Strong leadership, mentoring, organizational, communication and client management skills
LEED accreditation a plus
