Burns & McDonnell Business Development Manager - Oil, Gas & Chemical in Houston, Texas

Description

Burns & McDonnell has an immediate opening in Houston for a Business Development Manager in the Oil, Gas, & Chemical (OGC) division.

The Houston OGC operation is a strategic area of focus of growth and opportunity within the firm.

The OGC division executes engineering, procurement and construction projects in the midstream and downstream process facilities.

The Business Development Manager (BDM) develops trusting prospective and existing client relationships and is responsible for fostering an outstanding reputation of Burns & McDonnell throughout the industries based upon company core values of client satisfaction, commitment, dedication, integrity, safety and overall outstanding service.

  • Serves as Client Manager for select clients – primary responsibility for ultimate delivery of services and client satisfaction.

  • Identifies opportunities and manages team efforts for submittals, proposals, presentations, contract negotiation, marketing communications, trade shows and related activities.

  • Participates in go-no-go evaluations, establishes project work plans and reviews fee estimates.

  • Ensures development of a client service plan for key clients which includes a vertical relationship plan for the client organizations.

  • Communicates and coordinate sales activities within the OGC division.

  • Advises marketing principals of actions, schedules, prospects, and related activities on continual basis.

  • Establishes goals, objectives, strategies, and budget requirements for developing new business.

  • Serves as the client advocate during the completion of projects to ensure proper team alignment and assist advancing from concept development through design and construction phases.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, sciences, or relevant degree from accredited program.

  • Minimum 10 years business development experience in the specific industry of focus.

  • Must be able to demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills; strong interpersonal skills; and the ability to clearly and effectively present complex information to all levels of employees and clients.

  • Candidates must possess strong sales management skills and a strategic perspective.

  • Previous experience in Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) preferred.
