Burns & McDonnell Business Development Manager - Oil & Gas – Terminals & Pipelines in Houston, Texas
Burns & McDonnell has an immediate opening in Houston for a Business Development Manager in the Oil, Gas & Chemical Division within the Terminals & Pipelines Group. This position will be responsible for developing business with key clients in the midstream, downstream and petrochemical sectors of the Oil and Gas industry with significant potential to become a major contributor to the growth and profitability of Burns & McDonnell. This business line within Burns & McDonnell executes engineering, procurement and construction projects of liquid and gas terminal facilities throughout the refining, midstream and petrochemical market sectors. A Business Development Manager establishes contacts with new prospects; coordinates contacts between staff and proposed clients; manages key relationships with existing clients; supports commercial contract negotiations with new and existing clients; understands the competitive landscape within the Oil & Gas industry. Serves as principal client contact when necessary.
Advises marketing principals of actions, schedules, prospects, and related activities on continual basis. Supervises team members. Coordinates team activities for timely responses, submittals, presentations and proposals. Organizes development of marketing's administrative system and resources.
Establishes goals, objectives, strategies, and budget requirements for developing new business. Serves as the client advocate during the completion of projects to enable proper team alignment and assist advancing from concept development through design and construction phases. Other duties as assigned.
Bachelor's degree from accredited program required.
Oil and gas midstream infrastructure experience required.
Oil and gas terminals and pipelines experience preferred.
Minimum 7 years experience in the specific industry of focus.
Previous experience in consulting environment preferred. Excellent written & verbal communication skills.
Previous experience in Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) preferred.
