Duties:
Reviews and interprets engineering documentation such as drawings/specifications/scope of works
Provides detailed and accurate quantity and component take-offs against the technical drawings, specifications and scope of work documentation
Advises on potential problem areas and advise best possible solutions to the project team during the cost estimating exercise
Provides timely clarifications for ongoing submission within the tender duration
Provides current and competitive engineering schedule of rates
Communicates and negotiates competitive rates with suppliers and sub-contractors
Provides costing data and input into the Proposal formats required by the RFQ
Supports estimates with structures and details where required
Sources and collates additional engineering information related to the tender requirements to support the bid proposal
Reports to the Engineering Manager the Project Manager or Estimating Manager for specific proposals
Works within the estimating team
Coordinates with other discipline Estimators
Responsible for inputting cost information into, and maintaining a database for historical and contemporary data.
Proficient in the ability to work with engineering drawings and specifications
Prepare RFQ’ and Requisitions for Equipment and specialty Items
Assist Project Controls group with Schedules and proper accounting of projects
Interact with the Project Managers (E or EPC) and /or Clients to address project Requirements
Interface with other disciplines in developing total project solutions
Prepares weekly bid calendar and ensures timely completion of estimates
Reviews EPC documents and understands scope of work to bid
Prepares cost analysis by recapitulating material, labor, equipment, subcontractor and overhead costs incurred in the installation of items
Develops and maintains resource information on products, vendors, subcontractors, etc.
Assist in Prepare Equipment Specifications & Data
Evaluating tender documents, drawings, & schedules
Based on Clients budget constraints for any specific project, carrying out Value engineering studies
Study and understand the project scope of work, contract, schedule, project execution, local conditions, financing scheme of a specific proposal
Prepare and plan project estimate methodology that satisfies client’s expectations, is agreed with Project Management Team and is in line with company guidelines.
Conducts cost review meeting with internal departments and Proposal, Procurement and Construction
Present the cost estimate to Management during Review Meetings Informs of any observed inaccuracies or omissions
Prepares the price sheet and price breakdown for submission and present the final estimates
Actively involved in risk review meetings to ensure accuracy of cost risk evaluation
Help develop and plan for improving estimating, tools, systems and with progression of the department
Qualifications
Skills/Qualifications:
Technical:
Microsoft products Basic Office Equipment (phone, copy machine, fax machine, 10-key calculator)
Ability to read and interpret documents such as blueprints, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Write routine reports and correspondence. Speak effectively before groups of customers or employees
AutoCAD/CADWorx
Physical:
Ability to lift 20lbs

Basic understanding of the principles of cost control, estimating, management and project reporting.
Education/Experience:
Degree in relevant Engineering disciplines, e.g. Civil Engineering, Architecture, Mechanical, Electrical, etc.
Previous experience in Estimation within Petrochem/Process industry.
