Burns & McDonnell Senior Pipeline Engineer - Transmission & Distribution (Houston) in Houston, Texas
Primary responsibilities include design of pipelines and related facilities.
Execute complex assignments requiring the use of advanced techniques, resulting in the development of new or improved processes, equipment and/or technological methods.
May develop and evaluate plans for major pipeline projects.
May assess feasibility or soundness of proposed applications when data is insufficient, or testing is advisable.
May coordinate departmental or divisional project studies, reports or project design assignments.
Progressive design and project management responsibilities.
Provide leadership, guidance and instruction to less experienced staff members.
Regularly meets and corresponds with clients or outside personnel.
Some marketing responsibilities.
Other duties as assigned.
Up to 20% of travel.
Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (any) or a directly related field plus seven (7) years of related pipeline design experience.
Must have five (5) years of experience in the following (experience may be gained concurrently):
Project Experience working with pipeline design codes and safety requirements, including ASME B31.4, B31.8, 49 CFR Part 192, and 49 CFR Part 195
Experience with production of design and construction documents, including alignments sheets, site specific crossing drawings, or P&ID drawings and specifications
Experience with design and construction of horizontal directional drills and other trenchless crossings
Must have three (3) years of experience in the following (experience may be gained concurrently):
Experience with permitting requirement for trenchless installations
Experience with stress analysis and inadvertent return analysis for horizontal directional drilling
Will accept a Master’s degree plus six (6) years of related pipeline design experience in lieu of Bachelor’s degree plus seven (7) years of related pipeline design experience. Up to 20% of travel.
