Burns & McDonnell Senior Pipeline Engineer - Transmission & Distribution (Houston) in Houston, Texas

Description

  • Primary responsibilities include design of pipelines and related facilities.

  • Execute complex assignments requiring the use of advanced techniques, resulting in the development of new or improved processes, equipment and/or technological methods.

  • May develop and evaluate plans for major pipeline projects.

  • May assess feasibility or soundness of proposed applications when data is insufficient, or testing is advisable.

  • May coordinate departmental or divisional project studies, reports or project design assignments.

  • Progressive design and project management responsibilities.

  • Provide leadership, guidance and instruction to less experienced staff members.

  • Regularly meets and corresponds with clients or outside personnel.

  • Some marketing responsibilities.

  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Up to 20% of travel.

Qualifications

  • Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (any) or a directly related field plus seven (7) years of related pipeline design experience.

  • Must have five (5) years of experience in the following (experience may be gained concurrently):

  • Project Experience working with pipeline design codes and safety requirements, including ASME B31.4, B31.8, 49 CFR Part 192, and 49 CFR Part 195

  • Experience with production of design and construction documents, including alignments sheets, site specific crossing drawings, or P&ID drawings and specifications

  • Experience with design and construction of horizontal directional drills and other trenchless crossings

  • Must have three (3) years of experience in the following (experience may be gained concurrently):

  • Experience with permitting requirement for trenchless installations

  • Experience with stress analysis and inadvertent return analysis for horizontal directional drilling

  • Will accept a Master’s degree plus six (6) years of related pipeline design experience in lieu of Bachelor’s degree plus seven (7) years of related pipeline design experience. Up to 20% of travel.
