Burns & McDonnell Senior Regional Security Strategist (Houston, TX) in Houston, Texas

Description

The Senior Regional Security Strategist is responsible for day-to-day company security operations located in Texas, Arizona, Louisiana and Latin America (LATAM), including physical security operations for Burns & McDonnell facilities, project offices, and physical campus security assessments. This position will provide security for large meetings, company sponsored events and symposiums and will manage security awareness activities, workplace violence mitigation and travel security programs within their region. The Senior Regional Security Strategist will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams and local stakeholders to mitigate risk, respond to incidents, and maintain a secure environment for our employees, assets and operations.

Job Duties:

  • Conduct regular threat, risk and vulnerability assessments of physical company properties and project opportunities/sites as well as analyze current events and surrounding environments in order to make recommendations for security mitigations and enhancements.

  • Develop, implement, and support corporate security strategy though implementation of policies and procedures at assigned regional corporate offices.

  • Conduct security and crisis management training for office management teams and employees assigned to corporate offices within their region.

  • Establish and maintain relationships with local law enforcement, first responders and security networking organizations within assigned region.

  • Identify physical security risks and work with local office management and corporate security teams to formulate mitigation plans.

  • Research, Implement and maintain compliance for existing and new local, state, federal, and international security regulations.

  • Lead facilitation with international project related travel security briefs and implementation of security mitigation measures in assigned regions for employees traveling internationally or on an international assignment.

  • Support emergency response through first responder actions when physically present at an office and in support of operations in assigned region.

  • Oversee investigations related to the physical security of assigned region. Resolves, documents, and tracks all security related incidents that occurs within their assigned region.

  • Partner with the Integrated Electronic Security Team in the maintenance and ongoing system testing of all integrated security systems at all Burns & McDonnell assigned facilities and consult on the design and installation of new or expanded systems through office remodel projects.

  • Manage third-party vendor relationships specific to assigned region as well as liaison with corporate vendor managers to ensure compliance with company standards.

  • Partner with Corporate Services departments, to include Human Resources, Accounting and Legal, with investigations as applicable.

  • Liaison between Corporate Security and their assigned regions Corporate Leadership, Corporate Safety, Human Resources, and Facilities Management Teams.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in in Criminal Justice, Security Management or related field required.

  • Minimum of 8 Years’ experience in a corporate security environment, physical security, military service, guard force management, related field, or a combination of the above.

  • Working knowledge of how to conduct threat risk and vulnerability assessments for corporate facilities.

  • Working knowledge of how to conduct physical security analysis pertaining to current events apply security mitigations to protect persons and property.

  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills to interact with multiple customers with differing needs based on business impacts.

  • Must have advanced knowledge in the use of basic computer software (i.e., Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

  • Strong leadership skills including effective oral and written communication, issue resolution, negotiation, motivating others, collaborative, team player, ability to deal with obstacles and partner with senior management to identify and solve problems.

  • Demonstrated proficiency technology, ability to learn company specific integrated security systems at an operator level (Access Control, CCTV, Intrusion Detection)

  • Hold one or more of the following ASIS Board Certification as a Physical Security Professional (PSP), Professional Certified Investigator (PCI) or Certified Protection Professional (CPP) – Or ability to obtain within first twelve months of employment.

  • Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking in Spanish strongly preferred.

  • Demonstrated experience working and operating in LATAM strongly preferred.

  • Ability and willingness to travel domestically and LATAM region.
