  • Establish a personal relationship with project and operations management to determine any skills gaps related to craft employees and provide upgrade training when necessary

  • Create training manuals, and program aids for workshops and seminars

  • Will make frequent jobsite visits to engage the field craft employees in available craft training

  • Actively participate in established partnerships with CMEF, EHCMA, PetroChem Works, HASC, NCCER, HBR, Economic Alliance, GHP and the local community colleges

  • Will work closely with the Craft Recruiting Manager to streamline onboarding of new employees and the necessary required training

  • Will be responsible for the supervision of the Training Team and provide exceptional leadership that will enable those employees to work to their full potential

  • Work with the Training Team to ensure Ref-Chem is following all required processes and procedures to maintain good standing with NCCER accreditation

  • Manage T&D apprenticeship program

  • Work with the Safety Department to determine training needs and assist when necessary

  • Establish an inhouse craft verification process

  • Will identify and prepare Ref-Chem competitors in the yearly ABC National Craft Championship

  • Support published corporate policies and holds department / team accountable to follow policies and best practices

  • Able to think creatively outside of the box for new ideas and training approaches




  • Ability to speak and present in front of small and large groups

  • Able to build curriculum and facilitate when necessary

  • Strong computer skills including MS Office products

  • Able to work in a high production environment and respond quickly/effectively under pressure to meet deadlines

  • Able to build and maintain good, positive, professional relationships with other Employee Owners, management, and field personnel

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, talk, and hear. The employee is occasionally required to walk; use hands and fingers to feel, handle, or operate objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms.

  • Ability to lift 20lbs


  • Minimum 3-7 years of related industry experience required

  • NCCER Master Trainer Certification preferred

  • OSHA knowledge required (Certifications preferred)

  • Experience with a Department of Labor Apprenticeship Program preferred

  • High School Diploma and some College preferred

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint

  • Excellent communication skills required, both written and verbal
