Burns & McDonnell 1898 & Co. Technology Sales Director in Kansas City, Missouri

Description

The 1898 & Co. Technology Sales Director is responsible for planning and executing sales strategies for all Technology Consulting business lines. This position will work closely with the 1898 & Co. marketing team as well as the Technology Consulting business line leaders to build sales pipelines across the Burns & McDonnell industrial verticals. This individual will build market position by identifying, developing, defining, negotiating, and closing lasting business opportunities with new and existing customers. General responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Developing sales strategy, strategic marketing plans and sales plans and forecasts to achieve corporate objectives for products and services.

  • Identifying business opportunities for assigned lines of business in support of current and prospective clients.

  • Collaborating internally with other business units, with an external focus to maximize existing client opportunities and develop new clients that yield project opportunities and business deals.

  • Manage and build sales staff to support business growth.

  • Collaborate with business line leads, project managers, and proposal production staff on proposal creation and delivery. Responsible for proposals submitted to existing and prospective clients.

  • Setting expectations and goals for sales staff and maintaining accountability.

  • Significantly increase sales pipeline of quality opportunities in the first year, aligned with strategic direction and profitability metrics set forth in conjunction with 1898 & Co. leadership.

  • Coordinating with internal Burns & McDonnell client managers (across multiple Global Practices as necessary) to develop pursuit plans in conjunction with ongoing business opportunities.

  • Utilize CRM for opportunity tracking, record of contacts, and development of Client Action Plans for wide distribution of business insights.

  • Organizing client and/or opportunity-specific teams of consulting professionals to develop winning proposals.

  • In conjunction with 1898 & Co. leadership, closes new business deals by coordinating requirements, developing and negotiating contracts, and integrating contract requirements with business operations.

  • Attend and participate in professional associations. Strive for leadership role in select professional associations.

  • Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks, and participating in professional organizations.

  • Build relationships with Clients at appropriate strategic and purchase authority level.

  • Work collaboratively with business line leadership to complete business planning activities.

  • Establishing and managing sales budgets in conjunction with business line leadership.

  • Commit to personal sales and marketing goals and develop plans to achieve goals.

  • Drive deal closing activities and coach others to develop these skills across the customer engagement groups.

  • Working with business line leadership to refine market offerings based on customer and prospect feedback.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, computer science, information technology or related field from accredited program. Minimum 13 years related professional experience. Excellent written & verbal communication skills. Strong analytical and problem solving skills. This position requires an individual capable of applying intensive and diversified knowledge of principles and practices to broad areas of assignments. Must be capable of devising new approaches to problems encountered. Previous consulting experience preferred.

Ability to work out of World Headquarters in Kansas City, MO preferred.
