Burns & McDonnell Assistant Right of Way Specialist in Kansas City, Missouri

Description

The Assistant Right of Way Specialist will assist in the facilitation of land acquisitions, negotiations, property research, titles and surveys. This includes permitting support, assisting with construction coordination, and restoration on Right of Way projects in a variety of locations.

  • Assist in analyzing, preparing, reviewing, and interpreting Land and Right of Way related agreements, deeds, easements, leases, permits, and licenses.

  • Assist in research and collection of real property related documents.

  • Support translation of data from Right of Way documents into the stakeholder management database.

  • Assist in quality assurance reviews of stakeholder management database entries from Right of Way field agents.

  • Assist with compiling technical data to be presented to Right of Way project team.

  • Assist with preparation of permit applications for the project team.

  • Assist in preparation of project status, technical, and acquisition reports for the project team.

  • Provide support to Right of Way managers on document preparation and ensure compliance with company and site safety policies.

  • All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, real-estate law or related field plus 2 years of applicable experience. Additional applicable experience may be substituted for the degree requirement.

  • Kansas Real Estate Salesperson License required (or ability to obtain). Kansas Real Estate Broker License would be a plus.

  • SR/WA designation from the international Right of Way Association (IRWA) preferred. Intermediate credentialing certifications by IRWA will be considered.

  • Prior internship or experience related to Right of Way preferred.

  • Work on transportation projects – familiarity with the Uniform Relocation Act

  • Basic knowledge of general real estate law preferred.

  • Basic understanding of real estate title work preferred.

  • Ability to work as an effective team member.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to multi-task.

  • Excellent ability to work independently.

  • Organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.

  • Basic knowledge of ArcGIS desktop environment.

  • Must be proficient in the use of computer software (i.e., Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

  • Valid driver's license required. In addition, must meet standards to qualify for and maintain the Company's vehicle driving privileges as outlined in the Company's Motor Vehicle Safety Policy.
