Burns & McDonnell Commissioning/Commercial Quality Manager in Kansas City, Missouri

Description

The Construction Quality Manager is responsible for leadership, direction, management and the execution of the Construction Design Build Quality Program for projects in various locations. The Construction Quality Manager assures that installations comply with the applicable plans, codes, standards, specifications and construction practices, including the timely completion and collection of inspection and test reports as required.

  • Establish and communicate project requirements to the project management team so that quality objectives may be achieved.

  • Develop and issue project specific onsite quality control plans.

  • Responsible for recommendations, enhancements and changes to the Burns & McDonnell CDB Site Quality Manual.

  • Develop and implement the documentation process for Non-Conformance Reporting (NCR) issues and ensure resolution.

  • Manage Corrective Action Reporting (CAR) in order to ensure appropriate and timely resolution.

  • Review and ensure compliance of subcontractor Quality Plans, and Inspection and Test Plans (ITP's).

  • Review and ensure compliance of Welding Procedure Specifications and procedure qualification records.

  • Responsible for notifying the project management team regarding any quality issues or concerns.

  • Responsible for monthly reports on Nondestructive examination (NDE) and NCR Statistics.

  • Compile and issue system turn-over packages for multiple construction projects and ship to the respective project sites.

  • Participate in the Task Safety Observations (TSO's) process and define corrective measures for problem areas.

  • Comply with all Safety & Health requirements and monitors construction activities to ensure adherence to safety standards.

  • All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent. Applicable experience may be substituted for the diploma requirement.

  • Minimum 10 years related experience, including 10 or more years managing and implementing quality control procedures.

  • Current AWS Certified Welding Inspector certification required.

  • Must be detailed oriented.

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.

  • Strong computer and communications media skills.

  • Advanced technical writing experience required.
