Job Information

Burns & McDonnell Competitive Transmission Project Development Manager in Kansas City, Missouri

Description

  • Manage and engage in business development with competitive transmission clients

  • Coordinate attendance for and track activity and opportunity of ISOs, RTOs, and other initiators of competitive projects

  • Represent Burns & McDonnell and present at industry conferences

  • Direct Burns & McDonnell and client/partner competitive transmission pursuits

  • Sponsor execution of competitive transmission projects

  • Manage resolution of potential multi-engagement conflicts

  • Provide subject matter expertise on competitive transmission regulatory and industry matters

  • Provide guidance to pursuit teams regarding non-traditional project financing and payment security

  • Manage relationships with non-traditional clients and other organizations related to competitive transmission

  • Develop partnering strategy, assess risk, and assist in negotiating favorable terms and profitability with developers

  • Coordinate with business line directors, department managers and client leads on competitive transmission engagements

  • Coordinate and collaborate with regional offices on competitive transmission pursuits

  • Assist in identifying qualified internal teams and leadership for pursuits and project execution

  • Assist in direction of project planning, budgeting and establishing critical project objectives.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in engineering or business from an accredited institution. Master’s in Business Administration preferred. Minimum 10 years related experience, including 5 or more years in electrical power delivery project development.

Excellent written & verbal communication skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
