Burns & McDonnell Data Scientist - Construction Program Management - (Kansas City) in Kansas City, Missouri

Description

An Burns and McDonnell Data Scientist will help analyze and interpret data to generate valuable insights to drive business decisions. This role will be pivotal in harnessing the power of data to drive business insights and decisions. The Data Scientist will be a part of the overall Program Management team and part of the larger Construction vertical. You will work closely with clients, program managers and business stakeholders to understand their data sets, strategy, and operational requirements, in order to drive exploratory analysis and design long-term solutions.

We are seeking a Data Scientist with application development and data visualization skills in Power BI and/or Tableau.

  • Will work closely with project managers and database administrators and senior managers to translate business objectives into analytics requirements

  • Will work with application developers/owners, business stakeholders and program team members to deliver data and analytics products

  • Ability to extract, process and analyze large datasets using advanced SQL techniques

  • Organize data from multiple sources into centralized repository

  • Ensure data quality and integrity in datasets

  • Ability to guide and develop AI strategy and development, including performing exploratory data analysis, building and validating models, and deploying models into production

  • Stay updated with latest trends and technologies in data analysis and visualization

  • Ability to handle multiple projects under strict deadlines

  • Strong problem solving skills and analytical thinking

  • Must be curious to learn about construction program management operations and understand complex business needs

This position is an in office position located in Kansas City, MO.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor Degree in Analytics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Statistics, Math, or related field from an accredited program and 4 years related experience Required

  • Master Degree Preferred

  • Related consulting experience preferred.

  • Experience working with SQL, R, Java, Python, SAS, SPSS required.

  • Experience in data mining and predictive analytics.

  • Experience in machine learning and predictive algorithms.

  • Experience in data visualization.

  • Ability to work with team members and clients to assess needs, provide assistance, and resolve problems.

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

  • Strong attention to detail.

  • Excellent verbal/written communication, and the ability to present and explain technical concepts to business audiences.
