Burns & McDonnell Database Administrator in Kansas City, Missouri

Description

The position of an Database Administrator will have responsibility for the strategy, development deployment, implementation, maintenance, administration operations on the Enterprise Applications Database team within Information Technology. Responsible for defining, implementing and maintaining procedures to ensure data security, integrity and availability.

Areas of responsibility include supporting the overall IT Department and specific roles relative to the Database Management Section including the following, with other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science or equivalent.

  • Require a Minimum of 10 year's experience, focused on Database Technology.

  • Knowledge of Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server database administration preferred.

  • Position requires the ability to be in the Oracle E-Business Suite Production on-call rotation

  • Related 3 years of experience in the areas of Oracle Cloud, Azure Cloud, Infrastructure preferred.

  • Knowledge of Oracle EBS applications and architecture required.

  • Must have work experience demonstrating strong technical and solid troubleshooting skills.

  • Proven project management, communication skills, ability to work with limited supervision and ability to achieve team project goals.

  • Must be detail oriented, understand database structure, configuration and architecture

  • Skills in application development process and deployment, cloning, RMAN backups

  • Knowledge and experience Exadata, RAC, data guard, performance tuning and disaster recovery

  • Ability to effectively prioritize tasks in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment.

  • Proven self-starter with the ability to work effectively in a team environment as well as individually on complex work assignments

  • Experience with documenting team processes and procedures

  • Experience with Oracle Security Best Practices

  • Look for cost effective ways to streamline and automate current administration

  • Travel not required

  • Ensure compliance with company and site safety policies

  • All other duties as assigned.
