Burns & McDonnell Document Manager in Kansas City, Missouri
This position is responsible for the direction and leadership of the Document Management Section of the Core IT Department within the Operations Global Practice. Areas of responsibility include general roles supporting Core IT Department and specific roles relative to the Document Management Section including the following.
Develop the document management strategy to implement and administer an document management systems and related procedures that allow organizations to manage the lifecycle (capture, store, retrieve, share, archive and destroy) of electronic records and documents.
Maintain the document management systems through by developing, documenting, or maintaining standards, best practices, and system usage procedures.
Determine the document management policies and guidelines to facilitate efficient, legal, and secure access to electronic content.
Exercise security surveillance and access rights over document processing, reproduction, distribution, storage, or archiving.
Manage the assessment, acquisition, or deployment of new electronic document management systems.
Keep abreast of developments in document management by reviewing current literature, talking with colleagues, participating in educational programs, attending meetings or workshops, or participating in professional organizations or conferences.
Implement scanning or other automated data entry procedures, using imaging devices and document imaging software.
Plan and conduct meetings and presentations related to document management.
Provide administrative, supervisory and technical direction
Assign work and review performance to ensure quality and efficient, cost-effective utilization of staff.
Recruit, develop, train and retain personnel.
All other duties as assigned
Bachelor's degree in Library Science or Information Technology from accredited program.
Minimum 7 years related professional experience.
Direct Experience document management and document management systems or content management systems software.
Must demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to clearly and effectively present complex information to all levels of employees, management, and clients.
Position requires the ability to thoughtfully and positively influence, lead, and manage change.
