Job Information

Burns & McDonnell Financial Systems Analyst in Kansas City, Missouri


The Financial Systems Analyst will design, setup and test financial systems for enhancements and upgrades, including the design of custom reports, system integrations and modules. Areas include (but not limited to) foreign currency, international subsidiaries, general ledger, accounts receivable, accounts payable, cash management, expense reports, fixed assets, project costing, project billing and project forecasting.

  • Design, setup and test financial systems for enhancements and upgrades.

  • Develop specifications for custom reports, integrations and modules.

  • Gather and document functional business requirements and processes.

  • Develop and execute test scripts.

  • Develop the training materials and present training for end-users.

  • Trouble shoot system issues with end users and IT developers.

  • All other duties as assigned.


  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Business. Emphasis in Information Systems preferred.

  • Experience with Oracle E-Business Suite applications and PL/SQL preferred.

  • Self-motivated and good organizational skills.

  • Able to analyze and solve problems independently.

  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft office.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in accounting, finance, business or financial systems.

  • Experience with financial system implementation/upgrade initiatives preferred.

  • Advanced knowledge in Microsoft excel preferred

  • Experience with Microsoft project and Visio preferred
