Burns & McDonnell Information Security Section Manager in Kansas City, Missouri

This position is responsible for the direction and leadership of the Information Security Section of the Core IT Department within the Operations Global Practice.Areas of responsibility include general roles supporting Core IT Department and specific roles relative to the Information Security Section including the following.

  • Protect the Burns & McDonnell brand and reputation, minimize employee productivity loss, safeguard company sensitive information, and comply with client data security requirements.

  • Lead and manage the security services including: Perimeter Security, Remote Access, Endpoint Security, Vulnerability Management, Identity and Access Management, Certificate Management, Software Deployment and the Incident Response process.

  • Focus on creating a culture of information security awareness, understanding and meeting the growing business security requirements, and maintaining a resilient security posture.

  • Interpret and establish policies, procedures, and strategic goals

  • Demonstrate creativity, foresight and judgment in anticipating and solving problems.

  • Provide administrative, supervisory and technical direction

  • Assign work and review performance to ensure quality and efficient, cost-effective utilization of staff.

  • Recruit, develop, train and retain personnel.

  • All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Cyber/Information Security or Information Technology from accredited program.

  • Minimum 7 years related professional experience.

  • Direct Experience managing an Information Security and/or Technology team.

  • Strong understanding of information security breech trends

  • Experience implementing security and compliance best-practice processes and procedures

  • Strong understanding of IP, TCP/IP, and other network administration protocol

  • Strong understanding of Network Architecture

  • Current Security Certification is preferable.

  • Must demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to clearly and effectively present complex information to all levels of employees, management, and clients.

  • Position requires the ability to thoughtfully and positively influence, lead, and manage change.
