Burns & McDonnell Infrastructure/Cloud Architect in Kansas City, Missouri

Description

This position will create and document the future modern information technology infrastructure strategy to support the Burns & McDonnell global practices and affiliate companies.

Job Duties:

  • Analyze business and technical requirements to determine system design, potential issues, and related costs for infrastructure projects

  • Architect, configure and deploy cloud and on-premise platforms and solutions that meet scalability, availability, and performance requirements

  • Deliver complex infrastructure projects by creating design, implementation, and migration strategies that preserve the availability, performance, stability, and scale of systems

  • Lead the research and evaluation of emerging technology, industry and market trends to assist in project development and/or operational support activities

  • Define the principles, guidelines, standards and solution patterns to ensure solution decisions are aligned with the enterprise's future-state architecture vision.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree computer science, management information systemens or related field. Minimum 10 years experience (7 years experience in infrastructure technologies and 4 years experience in cloud technologies preferred). Delivery of complex software solutions consistently on time with little to no errors. Demonstrate advanced knowledge of infrastructure technologies including: cloud computing, storage area networks, virtualization, server hardware, operating systems, networking, business applications, and security infrastructure to help document, shape and direct the I&O technology road map. Extensive experience designing enterprise solutions, and defining solution architectures preferred. Maintains awareness of new and emerging technologies, and the potential application on service offerings and products provided by IT. Good communication with team and customer. Excellent written & verbal communication skills. Certification may be required (system dependent).
