Burns & McDonnell Investment Analyst – Corporate Accounting & Finance (Kansas City) in Kansas City, Missouri
Description
This Investment Analyst position will be supporting the growing investment activities of Burns & McDonnell across a variety of asset classes, including strategies in cash & short-term investments, fixed income, public equities, alternatives, and other investments that are strategic to the business.
Responsibilities
Support and maintain Investment Policy Statements and supporting schedules for various investment portfolios, such as the Corporate Balance Sheet, Foundation, and Employee Stock Ownership Plan.
Prepare and maintain reporting on the investment portfolio performance and risk on a regular basis to be reviewed by company leadership.
Review and analyze performance of investments to develop actionable insights. Assist with preparing recommendations regarding portfolio activities and investment strategies to company leadership.
Leverage and maintain technology solutions, as applicable, to efficiently monitor and report investment portfolio performance and risk.
Evaluate prospective investment opportunities through in-depth financial modeling, market research, legal review, and other due diligence activities, including alternative assets such as real estate and private equity.
Review and perform research in overall capital markets and the industry, and develop relevant conclusions to inform decisions on investments and corporate finance activities.
Coordinate with external investment advisors and investment managers to carry out investment plans.
Prepare and maintain cash flow forecasts to inform investment allocation recommendations.

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business is required.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in investment analysis and reporting, portfolio management, financial modeling, and/or other financial analysis
Ability to apply a range of software tools, including models, spreadsheets, and databases, to perform analysis and communicate findings in a compelling way.
Ability to clearly communicate both verbal and written technical information.
Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow complex requests.
Progress towards an advanced degree or designation, such as an MBA or Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) is desirable, but not required.
Experience in private equity, venture capital, M&A, and/or real estate is desirable, but not required.
Expert in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point.
