Job Information

Burns & McDonnell IT Infrastructure Manager in Kansas City, Missouri

Description

This position of will provide leadership and technical skills to effectively and efficiently manage IT Infrastructure technologies and personnel. Work with the Enterprise Strategist to drive the global vision, strategy, architecture, design, standards/roadmaps, initiatives, goals, and projects across the corporate infrastructure.

  • Oversee daily operations, including server hardware, software, and operating systems.

  • Lead the team to identify the appropriate tools and processes to enhance efficiencies in the day to day infrastructure operations, maintaining high availability at all times.

  • Manage the rollout of new technologies and upgrades in a way that minimizes disruption to the business – focusing on change management and problem avoidance

  • Establish, maintain and report on service level agreements for infrastructure services

  • Consistently maintain and improve disaster recovery strategy

  • Work closely with other teams to align infrastructure initiatives with the IT strategy to ensure that we meet business goals.

  • Manage escalations to both vendors and internal support organizations for timely recovery of systems and services.

  • Define and gather metrics to measure the overall effectiveness of the infrastructure team while tracking delivery of quality customer service.

  • Develop and implement methods to measure and report on infrastructure or apps/services performance and reliability

  • All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Sciences or a related field.

  • 7 years of experience in infrastructure management and operating systems

  • 4 years of management experience

  • Working knowledge in Microsoft Windows, VMware, NetApp, Cisco

  • Solid documentation, communication skills, and project planning

  • Ability to plan, multitask, and prioritize work in a fast-changing environment

  • Must be able to work in a team environment

  • Must be detail oriented with ability to maintain and organize workloads.

  • Must be able to maintain highly confidential information.

  • Ability to communicate effectively in writing and orally.

  • Ability to resolve interpersonal conflict and miscommunications.

  • Demonstrated collaborative skills and ability influence peers and senior management

  • Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines and reporting
