Burns & McDonnell Real Estate Portfolio Specialist in Kansas City, Missouri

Description

The Real Estate Portfolio Specialist will be responsible for executing commercial real estate transactions for our corporate real estate department. This role will support strategic planning, strong analysis, site selection, lease negotiation, and commercial real estate lease portfolio management and reporting.

  • Collaborate with internal business leaders and cross-functional stakeholders to define requirements, build project plans, and manage project life cycle for selection and leasing of field office properties.

  • Select and manage commercial real estate brokers and other third parties.

  • Conduct analysis of market trends, management of property data, and financial information reporting to support decision-making.

  • Prepare and report on budget and financial forecasting for property portfolio.

  • Monitor implementation of lease transaction and administration technology applications to drive continuous process improvement and improved reporting.

  • Collaborate with the corporate real estate team to ensure efficient project execution, timely decision making, smooth workflow and coordinated lease commencement.

  • Consult on real estate strategies to optimize property performance and report on to leadership.

  • Monitor lease management, including lease abstracts, tracking critical dates, and ensuring compliance with lease agreements.

  • Maintain accurate and organized physical and digital files for properties, leases, and client information.

  • Maintain databases of lease and property-related information.

  • Monitor and analyze vendor contracts and performance, escalate concerns to leadership.

  • Ensure that services are provided in compliance with policies, procedures, regulations and contractual obligations and standards.

  • Prepare reports, presentations, and correspondence for clients and team members.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Complies with all policies and standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor Degree in Real Estate, Finance, Business, or a related field and 4 years of relevant experience required.

  • Experience in corporate real estate, commercial real estate, or a related role.

  • Knowledge of real estate acquisition strategies, processes, and market trends.

  • Expert in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point.

  • Strong financial analysis skills and proficiency in real estate valuation methods.

  • Position requires the ability to thoughtfully and positively influence, lead, and manage change.

  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow complex requests.

  • Ability to clearly communicate both verbal and written technical information.

  • Ability to apply a range of software tools, including models, spreadsheets, and databases, to perform analysis and communicate findings in a compelling way.
