Burns & McDonnell Sales & Marketing Strategist in Kansas City, Missouri

Description

The marketing strategist will develop and execute holistic marketing strategies to drive brand awareness, position the firm as an industry leader and achieve business and sales goals. This position will be an integral part of the firm’s internal marketing communications agency that serves the industry business units (our internal clients) within the firm.

  • Partner with business unit leaders to develop and execute strategic marketing and communications plans to generate interest and sales among targeted clients.

  • Develop, lead and implement promotional campaigns.

  • Lead development of all market specific material.

  • Manage all marketing activities including webinars, conferences, speaking opportunities and events.

  • Develop strategy and drive content marketing efforts for owned, paid and shared channels.

  • Serve as project manager on all marketing activities and deliverables monitoring deadlines, benchmarks and effectiveness of initiatives.

  • Serve as a liaison and collaborator between business unit and all department resources and teams, such as visualization, content, digital marketing and research and reference.

  • Manage, maintain and monitor local leads and client relationship database.

  • Ensure marketing activities are consistent with brand strategies.

  • Develop trusted relationships with business and trade media sales contacts making the firm the go-to source for thought leadership opportunities in our industry.

  • Work collaboratively with the public relations team to pro-actively identify opportunities to promote company projects, industry trends, corporate culture and thought leadership (and more) to targeted media outlets.

  • All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, journalism or related degree.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience working in marketing and/or sales.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Experience working with professional services industry a plus.

  • Ability to develop strategic and innovative marketing and public relations strategies.

  • Must demonstrate ability to build strong relationships and provide excellent client service.

  • Must be a self-starter with strong project management and organizational skills.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to clearly present complex information.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
