Job Information

Burns & McDonnell Senior Enterprise Architect in Kansas City, Missouri

Description

The Enterprise Architect will help manage and lead the vision and strategy of the build-out of the cloud based analytics platform for the company. They will be the subject matter experts in data acquisition, pipeline transformation, and cloud solutions for Burns & McDonnell on the analytics platform.

  • Lead architectural discussions and ensure customer success when building new analytics solutions and migrating existing analytics pipeline to the Azure platform.

  • Provide subject matter expertise and hands on delivery of data acquisition, curation and consumption pipelines on Azure

  • Responsible for maintaining current and emerging state of the art compute and cloud based solutions and technologies.

  • Build effective relationships with internal stakeholders

  • Provide technical leadership, guidance and instruction to the department.

  • All other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems (MIS), or related field. Applicable years of experience may be substituted for degree requirement.

  • A minimum of 8 years of direct experience

  • Excellent communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills

  • Excellent organizational, multi-tasking, and time-management skills

  • Ability to build, manage and foster a team-oriented environment

  • Familiarity with the technology stack available in the industry for metadata management (Data Governance, Data Quality, MDM, Lineage, and Data Catalog) is preferred

  • Hands-on experience implementing data migration and data processing using Azure services (Azure Functions, Serverless Architecture, ARM Templates, Azure SQL DB/DW, Data Factory, Azure Stream Analytics, Azure Analysis Service, HDInsight, Databricks Azure Data Catalog, Cosmo Db, ML Studio, and AI/ML) is preferred

  • Expertise in cloud migration methodologies and processes including tools like Azure Data Factory, and Event Hub is preferred

  • DevOps on the Azure platform is preferred

  • Preferred experience developing and deploying ETL solutions on Azure

  • Ability to build full technology stack of services required including PaaS, IaaS, SaaS, operations, management and automation is preferred
