Burns & McDonnell Senior Pipeline Engineer - Pipelines (Kansas City) in Kansas City, Missouri
Description
The Burns & McDonnell office in Kansas City is looking for a Senior Pipeline Engineer to lead pipeline project teams for a variety of natural gas pipeline projects.
Major responsibilities for the Senior Pipeline Engineer include:
Develop business and relationships with clients
Lead in the execution of engineering activities
Pipeline design including plans, profiles, crossings, details, associated bill of materials, and related facilities
Coordination to obtain survey, geotechnical investigations, permitting, land acquisition.
Calculations for studies and reports
Material and equipment specifications for procurement and/or factory acceptance testing
Lead in preparation of proposals and scope development, including
Conceptual designs and execution plans
Engineering/project cost estimates and schedules
Lead coordination of design activities with other disciplines (Pipeline Facilities, Civil/Structural, Electrical, Instrumentation and Control, etc.)
Develop and improve processes, tools and/or factory acceptance testing.
Provide leadership, training and mentoring to less experienced engineers and team members.
Regularly meet and correspond with clients or outside personnel.
Provide short term field support during construction.
Qualifications
Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Civil Engineering or related degree from an ABET accredited program orBachelor of Science in Mechanical or Civil Engineering or related Engineering Technology from an ABET accredited program and successful completion of Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam.
Minimum of 7 years related experience (completion of master’s degree in related field may be substituted for one year of experience)
Profession Engineer registration strongly preferred
Proficiency with 49 CFR Part 192 and ASME B31.8. Preference for familiarity with 49 CFR Part 195 and ASME B31.4
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Experience and connections within the natural gas utility industry.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Capability of solving difficult problems that require adaptation and modification of standard approaches, techniques, procedures and criteria.
