Burns & McDonnell Solutions Sales Consultant - Manufacturing Technology in Kansas City, Missouri
As a Solutions Sales Consultant in the manufacturing software and technology space, you will lead the charge in sales activity of software products and consulting services to both new and existing customers. You will work closely with technology Business Line Leaders to align solution offerings to customer needs. You will demonstrate how our technology solutions address customer pain points, capture critical win components from the customer, and drive development of a winning proposal. This role requires a deep connection to customers, and the ability to effectively communicate how the benefits of our offerings help them meet their business objective
Effectively present solution offering to prospects and existing customers virtually and in person
Lead customers through the full sales process while engaging others in the business unit to support as needed
Lead, with direct contribution to, the creation of winning proposals
Understand the customer’s technology footprint, strategic growth plans, business drivers, technology strategy, and competitive landscape.
Leverage existing customer relationships inside the company to generate warm leads
Prepare responses to RFIs and RFPs
Maintain up-to-date product knowledge and participate in on-going training
Communicate solutions benefits effectively
Maintain accurate sales funnel data and achieve strategic targets
Accept ownership for expanding sales and accomplishing assigned tasks
Establish and maintain long-term business relationships
Manage and interpret customer requirements
Properly set customer expectations during sales process
Coordinate company staff to provide exemplary service to customers when required
Provide customer feedback to Business Line Leaders and product team
Maintain knowledge of competitor’s offerings
Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, computer science, information technology or related field from accredited program.
7 years of experience in a Sales, Sales Engineering, or Consulting role in technology or relevant industry with strong selling and communication skills (written and verbal).
Demonstrated success in selling SaaS software products
Experience with customer presentations including product demonstrations, first-meetings and proposal development.
Individual needs to be a confident self-starter, competitive and enthusiastic with a strong sense of self-discipline, drive, and urgency.
Ability to quickly learn, adapt and become a go-to resource on a dynamic team.
Must be able to manage a pipeline through CRM and productively balance shifting priorities.
Possess expert knowledge of technical architecture, system design and technology implementation
Understand and communicate the value of SaaS
