The Staff Electrical Engineer designs and specifies electrical systems associated with municipal and industrial water/wastewater treatment facilities (drinking water plants, sanitary sewer plants, refineries, power plants, manufacturing and food processing facilities, etc.). Electrical systems include low and medium-voltage power, lighting, SCADA and process controls, voice/data communications, fiber optics, emergency power systems, UPS, security systems, CCTV, and fire alarm. Candidate will lead or assist in the execution of complex projects requiring the use of advanced techniques for the preparation of plans, specifications, cost estimates, and studies from inception to completion. Candidate must be willing to collaborate with multi-disciplined teams and be able to effectively work across multiple offices. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or related degree from an ABET accredited program.

  • Or Bachelor of Science in Electrical or related Engineering Technology from an ABET accredited program and successful completion of Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam.

  • Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering may be substituted for 1 year experience.

  • 3 years of electrical engineering experience, consulting preferred.

  • Successful completion (i.e.passing) FE or EIT preferred.

  • Strong knowledge in standard engineering techniques and procedures.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to work methodically and analytically in a quantitative problem-solving environment and demonstrated critical thinking skills.

  • Proficient in standard engineering techniques and procedures.

  • Strong computer skills (e.g. Microsoft Office Suite)

  • Strong computer skills include AutoCAD, MicroStation, 2D and 3D rendering programs and other analysis programs.

  • Strong attention to detail, facilitation, team building, collaboration, organization and problem-solving skills.
