Job Information

Burns & McDonnell Visualization Intern in Kansas City, Missouri


The Visualization Intern will assist in providing conceptual ideation and innovative visualization solutions to be used in various marketing channels, presentations and client deliverables. This individual will work within a highly-collaborative team to assess the needs of the company and provide visually engaging animations, renderings, presentations and immersive assets to assist business development and marketing efforts.

  • Assist in designing visualization assets including animated videos, interactive/ immersive projects, presentations and project deliverables for various marketing and business development channels.

  • Conceptualize 3d, 2d graphic assets and animated sequences using various software packages incorporating modeling, animating cameras, storyboarding, applying materials, creating lighting solutions and editing videos for various marketing efforts.

  • Maintain the designed and developed various graphic elements to support presentations and marketing goals.

  • All other duties as assigned.


  • Pursuit of Bachelor's degree in digital animation, visualization, or Architectural rendering field.

  • Minimum of a 3.0 GPA strongly preferred.

  • Working knowledge of 3d modeling/animation/rendering, lighting, texturing, compositing, finishing/retouching and Augmented Reality/Virtual Reality applications preferred.

  • Experience in Audodesk 3dsMax, Vray, Adobe After Effects, Photoshop, Revit, and Sketchup preferred.

  • Ability to demonstrate knowledge of new technologies, trends and optimizing visualization assets for modeling, rendering, and animation including Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality.

  • Prior internship and/or related consulting experience preferred.

  • Involvement on campus or in the community.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills.

  • Demonstrated leadership skills.

  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work permanently (i.e. without time limitations, without restrictions or without need for work sponsorship) in the country where this position is located.
