You will work in project teams of architects, designers and engineers to create world class design on a variety of projects including corporate, mission critical, healthcare, airports, aerospace, and defence sectors from concept design through completion of construction.
You will assist the team with:
The architectural design of projects from the conceptual phase through construction administration equivalent to RIBA Workstages 1-7
Interior design based on client vision and architectural needs and requirements set forth by the project managers
Client presentations, bid proposals and feasibility studies
Work on multiple projects and deadlines
Site inspections and surveys
Modifying and reviewing production drawings
Correcting and updating drawings provided by senior architects to ensure our high-quality standards are maintained
Applying UK and EU practices, codes, and procedures within the architecture industry to generic international design concepts
Research into materials and products to meet local codes and customer standards
Compiling project-related data as required by the project managers
All other duties, as assigned
Functional responsibilities
Client facing with the ability to discuss and agree client requirements
Attend meetings and be able to assist with presentations
Participate in work winning activities including assist with the development of bid stage technical solutions
Interact in a professional manner with clients and colleagues to achieve project objectives
Work independently and as part of a global project team
Support future business opportunities through client engagement and elevation of the Burns & McDonnell brand
Training and personal professional development
Partaking in professional bodies and industry groups
Health & Safety compliance and preparation of associated safety documentation, e.g. pre-construction information documents
Qualifications
Required Skills:
Registration with ARCUK to RIBA Part 3 or equivalent EU-recognised registration as an Architect and a minimum of 2 years post-qualification experience in an architectural practice
A sound knowledge of architectural design principles, standards, and codes
Experience at a concept design level to assist with the development of data centre masterplans
Ability to write specifications for all architectural elements and standards of workmanship
Some experience and knowledge of NBS specification writing
Experience of large-scale industrial or commercial design
A minimum of 2 years of experience with Autodesk REVIT and Autocad
Fluency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
3D visualisation skills in software such as Grasshopper/Rhino
Experience with Adobe Creative Suite software (Photoshop, In-design, Lightroom)
Excellent experience in working with structural, MEP and coordination with those disciplines
Data center or telecommunication facility experience and knowledge of critical facility Mechanical design
Membership of relevant industry body, e.g. RIBA
A valid UK or EU driving licence
A valid passport
Permanent residency with full employment rights in the UK
