Burns & McDonnell Staff Communications Engineer - Aviation & Federal (New York) in Manhattan, New York

Description

Burns & McDonnell is considered a leading consultant in aviation and federal facilities industries. We are engaged in high visibility projects, both large and small, at major airports and military bases worldwide. You will be involved in a variety of unique design projects, from aircraft hangars to microgrids, from airport terminals to military training facilities.

Experience in the following areas of project design would be of high value:

  • Power Distribution Systems

  • Voice and Data Communications

  • Generators and UPS Equipment

  • Security, Access Control, and CCTV Systems

  • Fire Alarm Systems

  • Medium Voltage Systems

Qualifications

  • Candidate must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as strong analytical and problem-solving skills. This position requires an individual capable of applying intensive and diversified knowledge of principles and practices to a broad area of assignments. Candidate must be capable of devising new approaches to solve complex problems.

  • Bachelor's degree required in electrical engineering from accredited program.

  • Minimum 3 years related experience.

  • Successful candidate will have excellent written & verbal communication skills along with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • This position requires an individual capable of applying intensive and diversified knowledge of principles and practices to broad areas of assignments.

  • Able to take direction from Senior Engineers and complete tasks independently.

  • Possible ability to lead project tasks with little to no direction.

  • Experience with voice and data, security, access control, CCTV, structural cabling infrastructure preferred.

  • PE (NY) preferred, but not required.

  • EIT required, or a clear plan of action must be reviewed.

Compensation Range

$100,000-155,000

The expected compensation range for this position is displayed in accordance with the New York Public Act, An Act Concerning the Disclosure of Salary Range for Vacant Positions. The final agreed upon compensation is based on a number of factors, including but not limited to: individual education, qualifications, prior work experience and work location. The total annual compensation package will consist of a base salary and eligibility to participate in our discretionary year-end incentive bonus program.
