Burns & McDonnell Assistant Civil/Environmental Engineer in Minneapolis/St Paul, Minnesota


Burns & McDonnell’s Minneapolis-St. Paul operation (for either its Bloomington, MN, or Sioux Falls, SD, office) has a need for an Assistant Civil/Environmental Engineer to support solid waste facility planning, permitting, design, and construction oversight. The Assistant Civil/Environmental Engineer will also support solid waste planning and analysis for recycling, financial studies, waste characterization, etc. Other duties as assigned.

Time spent in the field may vary based on construction schedules.


  • Bachelor's degree in civil, environmental or mechanical engineering from accredited program.

  • 0-3 years of applicable professional experience. Consulting experience preferred.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills.

  • Landfill gas and hydraulic flow design experience is beneficial

  • 40-hr HAZWOPER certification preferred

  • Civil3D experience preferred
