We are looking for an experienced and energetic architect to join and collaborate with our team on exciting projects in the global facilities, food & consumer products, federal, and military sectors. We are seeking an individual who has the skills and experience to help build the architectural department based on continued growth of the office.
Develop concept designs and collaborate on major design decisions, involving spatial, aesthetic elements and detailing of materials throughout each project phase.
Prepare pre-design documents for programming, facility assessments, massing and block diagrams, etc.
Prepares and checks the accuracy of contract documents, including drawings and specifications.
Incorporates applicable codes, construction techniques and sequences in various projects, including all aspects of cross disciplines.
Performs construction administration activities including preparation of addenda and change documents, review submittals, respond to RFI’s, perform site observations, preparation of field reports, and project close-out.
Handles problems and questions as they occur during construction.
Responsible for external communications such as making telephone calls and preparing correspondence to clients, officials, and contractors as required by various projects.
Performs building code reviews and prepares applications. Initiates contact with code/city officials.
Documents the progression of a project through correspondence, calculations, memos, etc.
Responsible for determination of individual project involvement, i.e. scheduling, scope, role and budget.
Knowledge of estimating project staffing needs and capable of translating them into budget hours and costs.
Ability to monitor the budget of a task or series of tasks and make necessary adjustments to keep on budget.
Experience working with a multi-discipline team that is performing a sequence of tasks.
Ability to instill motivation to the team to meet projected milestones and capable of adjusting the procedures to keep the progress on target.
Maintains good client relations.
Participates in business development activities.
Mentor staff when applicable.
Other duties as assigned.
Bachelor's degree in architecture from a NAAB accredited program.
Minimum 5 years related experience (completion of master's degree in related field may be substituted for one year of experience).
Excellent communication skills and strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Experience in leading multi-discipline teams in the design and documentation of complex projects through all phases of a project.
Must have capabilities in Revit, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office Suite.
LEED AP is desirable, as well as understanding of sustainable design.
Registration preferred or a demonstrated progress towards becoming a registered architect.
