Burns & McDonnell Senior Civil Engineer - Airfield Aviation in Morristown, New Jersey
Burns & McDonnell's Aviation and Federal Global practice has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Civil Engineer responsible for the design, quality assurance, and control of civil infrastructure.
The successful candidate will also be responsible for performing a variety of engineering planning, design and construction phase assignments on a range of airfield projects. The Senior engineer will provide expertise on airside planning, site development, horizontal and vertical geometry, grading and drainage, erosion and sediment control, pavement design, quantity take-offs, utilities, and airfield infrastructure.
Other essential functions include interpretation of regulatory design standards, assist with development of project proposals, perform quality assurance reviews and mentor junior personnel.
Knowledge, technical skills and abilities of the Senior Engineer shall include basic to broad knowledge and skills of civil engineering principles, practices and methods, technical knowledge of aviation engineering principles, proficiency in engineering design and cad software.
Senior Civil Engineer must have the ability to work as a member of a multi-disciplined team and be capable of producing full design for major projects, including drawings, specifications, cost estimates, conduct technical studies, reports and narratives.
Licensed Professional Engineer
7years of experience. A master's degree may be substituted for one year of professional experience
A bachelor’s degree in civil engineering
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Preferred experience with Autocad and Civil 3D
Experience with Aviplan, Aeroturn, or FAARFIELD is a plus
