Description

Main responsibilities include leading others in creating substation automation and SCADA development for medium and low voltage level substations. Position may include full or partial responsibility of the following assignments:  Lead in preparation of proposals and scope development, including:

 Conceptual designs and execution plans.

 Engineering/project cost estimates and schedules.

 Lead in the execution of engineering activities: Substation design including Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories’ SEL-3555 RTAC programming, SCADA systems, fiber based networks, control building arrangements, interior and exterior raceways, auxiliary AC/DC power systems, and associated bills of material.

 Equipment specifications for procurement and/or factory acceptance testing.

 Lead coordination of design activities with other engineering departments (Civil/Structural, Substation, Transmission Line, etc.).

 Develop and improve processes, tools and/or technology implementations.

 Provide leadership, training and mentoring to less experienced engineers and team members.

 Perform quality reviews for other engineers and designers.

 Support business development and marketing initiatives.

 Work alongside US office.

 Other areas of involvement may include relay settings, network device settings, RTU settings, logic diagram.

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or related degree.

 Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering a plus.

 3-8 years electrical engineering experience.

 Experience with US utility clients is a plus.

 Publications in peer reviewed journals or white papers a plus

 Expert knowledge in standard engineering techniques and procedures.

 Strong knowledge of electrical equipment design ANSI and IEEE Standards. Strong computer skills (e.g. Microsoft Office Suite).

 Strong knowledge and experience with software tools such as SEL acSELerator RTAC and Quickset.

 Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

 Experience with HMIs such as Aveva System Platform a plus.

 Experience with leading the discipline design for large projects and delegating work tasks to team members. Ability to lead execution of work and resolve issues in a team environment.

 Demonstrated critical thinking skills, ability to work methodically and analytically in a quantitative problem-solving environment.

 Strong attention to detail, facilitation, team building, collaboration, organization and problem - solving skills.

 Ability to perform quality reviews for detailed engineering documents and specifications.
