Burns & McDonnell Business Development Manager - Food & Consumer Products (Orlando) in Orlando, Florida


This position will develop and implement business development, recruiting, project execution, and marketing activities for related engineering and construction services. As part of the organizational structure and philosophy, gain new clients and penetrate markets through assessments of opportunities and target markets to support business strategies in Refrigeration. Additionally, this position will participate in the strategic planning and development of market business plans activities related to Refrigeration.

Job Responsibilities

  • Provide insight into industry trends and develop business objectives related to Refrigeration within market business plan(s).

  • Perform and coordinate business development activities Refrigeration to align with sales and marketing business plan.

  • Active participation in industry organizations related to Refrigeration.

  • Develop team of specialist for engineering and construction in Refrigeration.

  • Evaluation of experience and capabilities of BMcD Employee/Owners in Refrigeration.

  • Increase internal awareness and visibility of service offerings of Refrigeration team across global practices and regional offices.

  • Increase brand awareness of the capabilities within Burns & McDonnell by continually outreach in the engineering and construction communities.

  • Establish and maintain relationships with clients (internal and external) as well as industry partners.

  • Recruit and develop team by mentoring professionals through oversight of project execution in Refrigeration.


  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related degree from accredited program.

  • Minimum 5 years progressive leadership experience in business planning, account management, and project management.

  • Minimum 10 years of practical experience in the engineering and/or construction related to Refrigeration.

  • Previous experience in construction and/or engineering environment preferred.

  • Must have ability to deal effectively with a wide variety of client and non-client, industry, and public contracts on project-related matters.
