Burns & McDonnell Project Manager - Security Consulting in Orlando, Florida
This position is responsible for the sale and execution of security consulting project work, including both cyber and physical security. Areas of responsibility include business development efforts in their field of expertise, leading the bid / proposal process, and managing the project execution. This position is both a people leadership role as well as client-facing, subject matter expert in the security field. Responsibilities of the position will include the following.
Establish and maintain relationships with prospective and existing clients.
Identify opportunities and manage team efforts for submittals, proposals, presentations, and related activities.
Write articles and/or make conference presentations.
Plan, organize, and direct projects including the overall safety, scope, cost, schedule and quality.
Ensure that the established project management methodology is executed and proper information systems are kept up-to-date.
Ensure that the project review process and other quality control guidelines are followed.
Provide direction and work assignments to resources assigned.
Establish project teams in coordination with the Section Manager(s), coordinate activities of multiple disciplines, ensure the efficient, cost-effective utilization of assigned personnel.
Monitor project progress and provide input into areas of concern and (re)direction to enhance achievement of project schedules, productivity goals, budgets, and quality.
Provide performance feedback to Department and Section Managers, as appropriate.
Demonstrate creativity, foresight, and judgement in anticipating and solving problems.
Other duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s degree in an applicable program from an accredited institution.
Minimum of 7 years related professional experience with a minimum of 3 years in project management. Applicable experience may be substituted for degree requirements.
Experience must include project scope definition, scoping studies, technical development, and capital cost estimating of projects.
Must show demonstrated success in project management.
Previous consulting experience is highly preferred.
Broad knowledge of their field and identified as a subject matter expert.
Proven ability to develop business and establish relationships with clients.
Must demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to clearly and effectively present complex information to all levels of employees, management, and clients.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are critical.
Must be able to thoughtfully and positively influence, lead, and manage change.
