Burns & McDonnell Environmental Services Federal Project Manager in Roanoke, Virginia

Description

The Environmental Practice at Burns & McDonnell is currently seeking a Federal Project Manager to help us with our federal HTRW and environmental planning consulting practice. The candidate should have established relationships and a successful project and program management history in the federal arena. This individual will be in involved with developing and executing new federal business, and recruitment and hiring of key personnel to support the growth of the group. Ideally, the candidate would be located in Virginia (Norfolk, Richmond, Roanoke) or Washington D.C.

Qualified candidates will have experience in the following areas:

-Environmental planning;

-Compliance;

-CERCLA/RCRA

-Federal Planning & Pursuit

-National Environmental Policy Act

With the following agencies:

-NAVFAC

-U.S. Army Corps of Engineers

-Army Environmental Center

-U.S. Air Force/AFCEC

-Department of Energy

-NAVFAC

-GSA

Qualifications

Qualified candidates will:

  • Possess a bachelor’s degree in business administration, natural sciences, geology, environmental sciences, engineering, or related fields.

  • Minimum of 10 years contracts and business experience with various agencies of the federal government required.

  • Local and regional knowledge and relationships with keyfederal clients and small businesses is a MUST.

  • Previous experience in DoD and project management preferred.

  • Desired candidates will have experience in government contracting and can identify federal opportunities and take them through the strategic planning and proposal stages through closure.

  • The candidate must demonstrate the ability to attract and retain clients and build backlog, revenue, profit, direct labor and ROI over time.

  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills are required to develop and maintain relationships.

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills are a must.
